Melkebruk Dairy is a farm located in Hereford, Texas, where they produce high-quality milk. The farm is also dedicated to sustainability, planning to capture livestock waste and convert it into renewable natural gas. The name Melkebruk is Norwegian for “dairy farm” and reflects the owner’s Norse heritage.

For this project, I was tasked with creating a logomark that encapsulated both the unique name and the operations of Melkebruk Dairy.

Cow & Helmet

The farm’s owner requested that the logo feature a cow wearing a Viking helmet, while maintaining a professional and refined appearance.

Nordic Rune

Incorporating Melkebruk’s Norwegian roots, the cow’s body is shaped like the Nordic rune for “M.”

Infinity

The infinity symbol represents Melkebruk’s commitment to sustainability through the production of renewable energy.

Logo Animation

Design Brief

The farm needed a simple yet professional logo animation to use across marketing materials, bringing the Brand to life while maintaining its polished identity.

Melkebruk Dairy Farm wanted custom hats for its investors and employees, as well as fun, youthful T-shirts for their employee’s children to help build a sense of community and Brand pride.

Brand Personality Exploration

During the initial stages of the Melkebruk logomark design process, the dairy’s owner was uncertain about the direction he wanted the Brand to take. Typically, I would pitch several design directions and move forward with the chosen one. However, in this case, I revisited the project and developed concepts for each direction to explore how the Brand could have evolved when aligned with different Brand personalities.
